The thoughts of Shri Narayan Murthy ,founder Infosys in the attached video are profound for Armed Forces Veterans transitioning to Corporate world. His two mantras need to followed in letter and spirit..."Set aside Ego while learning and Learning from others is for your own betterment."
Another thought that came to my mind is the need to undertake a honest "self-introspection". I wrote about it as a reply to a post by one of our members. I said that a honest self introspection can be self-threatening. We may therefore delay it, defer it or deny it. For meeting the challenges of the corporate world, a honest SWOT is essential. Don't delay ,defer or deny it.
I retire on 31 Dec after more than 31 years in Service. I intend to walk the talk ......"not making my Self Introspection...Self Threatening ! . An IIM Lucknow Professor advised our batch with a practical ,but profound thought..." As you unlearn to relearn...Have the power to Observe , Capacity to Reflect and the Guts to Change !"

ReplyDeleteI fully agree with shedding of ego and earliest is the best. Carrying 31 years of experience in handling various issues in upright and honest manner would have advantage in corporate world. I feel focus and approach (positive) to issue are key to success at senior levels.
